「あたりまえの日常も新しいもので溢れている——ぼくの世界に今日も旅に出かける」。散歩や食事など日々のささやかな営みに着想を得て、日常の豊かさを描く。下描きをせずに油彩で描き進め、軽やかさと広がりのある大胆な構図、点だけで顔を表すなど独自の視点が特徴。1988年愛知県生まれ。名古屋三越、浦和伊勢丹などで個展。アート台北、アート台中、アート京都等に出展。2019年NY SOHOにて1ヶ月の路上制作販売。independent tokyo 2023 奥田雄太賞・天明屋尚賞受賞。

Inspired by simple daily acts such as walking and eating, Ryota Shiga paints the richness of everyday life. Working in oil without preliminary sketches, he achieves a sense of lightness and bold, spacious compositions — portraying faces with only dots. Born in 1988 in Aichi. Solo exhibitions at Nagoya Mitsukoshi and Urawa Isetan; art fairs including Art Taipei, Art Taichung and Art Kyoto. One month of street painting in New York's SoHo (2019).
