Patarasak Na takuatung

物語は娯楽でありながら教訓を伝えるという考えのもと、タイの半伝統的な絵画技法を用いて民話を再構成するシリーズ「Sexuality's Tale」を制作。ジェンダーやセクシュアリティ、民間伝承を多様なキャラクターを通して再解釈し、社会への意識と平和を高めることを目指している。
タイ・ノンタブリー県生まれ。シラパコーン大学絵画彫刻版画学部でタイ美術を専攻。タイ絵画、ミクストメディア、陶芸、木彫など幅広い表現に取り組む。

Based on the idea that tales entertain while teaching morals, Patarasak re-creates Thai folk tales in the series "Sexuality's Tale" using semi-traditional Thai painting techniques. Reinterpreting gender, sexuality and folklore through a cast of characters, the work seeks to raise awareness and promote peace.
Born and raised in Nonthaburi, Thailand. He majored in Thai art at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, and works across Thai painting, mixed media, ceramics and woodcarving.
