Acrylic on canvas

Profile
Taking memories and experiences that have left a lasting impression on her as her themes, she works in copperplate etching and also creates tableaux in acrylic.
Her works feature characters evoking the anime and manga of the 1980s, pursuing a wistful style that draws on subculture and comic art.

1993 Born in Osaka Prefecture, raised in Sapporo
2019
Completed the Painting Course, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tama Art University
Selected as a 2nd-term scholar of the Kuma Foundation
Appeared in a segment of the TV program “Hirunandesu!”

Somewhat retro yet distinctly urban, her work seems to make a forceful assertion while surveying its subject from a refined distance. Since her student days she has expressed herself chiefly through printmaking, and her acrylic works are especially adept at conveying a faintly toxic sense of unease.

ABOUT THE WORKAbout the work
