Ryota Shiga is a contemporary artist who explores the theme of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from simple daily acts such as walking and eating, he depicts the richness and significance of the everyday. Painted spontaneously without preliminary sketches, his works in oil on canvas achieve a sense of lightness, with airy, spacious and bold compositions. His distinctive perspective, such as rendering faces with dots alone, offers a fresh way of seeing the world. For Shiga, art is akin to life itself; he aspires to keep painting until his last breath, always striving toward ever greater work.
ABOUT THE WORKAbout the work
