Born in Tochigi Prefecture. Graduated in International Studies from the College of International Studies at J. F. Oberlin University. After studying international politics and finding that the world before his eyes was filled with painful realities such as conflict and disaster, he began making art to depict, at least within his work, the gentle world he dreamed of as a child. Working mainly under the theme “Beyond the Curtain at Midnight,” he paints as if the world he imagined on sleepless childhood nights were still there today.
