“Perhaps who I am now is already enough”
An artist based in Taiwan. Centered on the signature characters “AKKA the capybara” and “DIEGO the mixed-breed dog,” CITY PIG portrays the atmosphere of contemporary society and people’s inner lives from a pop yet gentle perspective.
In an age of endlessly chasing “trends,” we often find ourselves anxious, comparing ourselves with others and doubting who we are. Against this backdrop, CITY PIG poses a theme through the work: “Perhaps who I am now is, in fact, already enough.”
In the zine created for Creative Expo Taiwan, the world is seen through the eyes of AKKA, a capybara living at the end of the world, quietly accepting each day as it comes. Even in a world full of the unknown and the strange, AKKA lives with a certain ease and calm.
To those of us weary of social media and digital society, CITY PIG offers art that reminds us of the importance of pausing for a moment and
simply breathing.
