Emotions, Made Colorful and Pop
Chika Shinoda has exhibited in Japan and abroad with message art inspired by urban legends and "The soul of Asia", a series depicting mythical creatures and deities of Japan and Asia. Since 2023 her girl series has rendered complex emotions — anger, sorrow, irony — in deliberately colourful, pop form, turning them into something that makes viewers smile.
Born in Tokyo in 1987; a self-taught artist since 2020.
