Oharu

Born on December 8, 1992, in Bangkok, Thailand, to a backpacker father and a Thai mother, and raised in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. From childhood I drew constantly, anywhere and with any tools, and continued as a hobby after entering the workforce. After working as a mobile phone salesperson, in real estate sales and as a receptionist at an imported-car dealership, I changed course in 2020.

Teaching myself digital software and painting techniques, I became an illustrator, designer and painter, and I work every day drawing on my professional experience and self-taught individuality. Many of my works concern living creatures, plants and nature. Above all, I want to paint beautiful things; my motto is to paint them more beautifully than reality. I am currently expanding my activities, mainly by taking part in group exhibitions and showing work at select venues.
