In Japan, a staggering one million tons of clothing is discarded every year. In 2008 fast fashion boomed, ushering in the era of disposable clothing. As the value of clothes has fallen, we now live in a time when we must be conscious of the responsibility of making new clothes, and the responsibility of buying them.

“We want to bring clothes that would be thrown away, or that can no longer be worn, back to life as clothes that make your heart flutter again!” With this wish, Chiharu Kikuchi, formerly of Candy Stripper, has created a one-of-a-kind, nostalgic yet new hyper-Japan remake brand:
