Profile

Concept
Taking anime character illustration as its motif and rendering it through an analog approach, the work proposes new possibilities for the genre of character painting.

MOMOE is an artist who paints works with characters as their motif, and her pieces carry a striking visual impact. Combining flat, two-dimensional girls with physical materials, her works offer the viewer a visual surprise. Readily approachable, they are positioned as a point of entry into contemporary art. She began creating under the influence of friends, and the commitment with which she has continued ever since attests to her sincerity and creativity. Her expression continues to evolve, and she is expected to keep taking on new art forms in the future.
