A Fusion of “Anime and Manga Culture” and “Comedy Culture”
I am fascinated by laughter: its very existence and the mechanism by which it arises.
At the moment laughter breaks out, I sometimes sense something akin to a mysterious happiness filling time and space.
I do not know what it is, but if we call it the “source of laughter,” could it be given visual form? That was my question.
I want to express “funny,” the very core of comedy, through visual art, and to fill a space with laughter. That is what drives me to make my work.
