Since childhood I have been drawn to the colorful era of animation from 1987 to 1999, and as I grew older I discovered the black-and-white era and came to love it deeply, because the animation of the 1920s can convey emotion directly, without color or words.

パイプやケーブルが無数に絡み合う、巨大な機械の内部。その中を、ハエやキノコ、どこかレトロなキャラクターたちが行き交う。モノトーンの画面に、奇妙なユーモアがあふれている。

タイのアーティスト、HAIHAITOONは、幼少期に親しんだカラフルなアニメーションと、1920年代の白黒アニメーションに深い影響を受けてきた。言葉を使わず、動きだけで感情を伝えるシンプルで力強い表現。タイトルは「The Cure」。治癒という名の機械の中で、キャラクターたちは何を探しているのだろう。
