Profile

Born in 1977 in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture. Growing up in a town blessed with the bounty of sea and mountains, I spent a boyhood devoted to skateboarding, which I loved more than anything. Captivated by street culture such as DJing and music production, through my twenties and thirties I struggled in pursuit of a self-expression that was truly original. The turning point came at 39: wanting to give my child a picture book for their birthday, I began teaching myself to draw. The mentors who lit my path were Eric Carle, Leo Lionni and Taro Okamoto.

At 42 I discovered a hybrid art fusing hand drawing and digital work, and immersed myself in creating. At 43 I began my art practice, exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions and art fairs in Mie, Osaka and Tokyo, and at 45 I exhibited in Monaco and Hong Kong. My theme is DREAMS COME TRUE. I believe dreams are not something you watch, but something you go out and seize.

I express my overflowing passion, radiance and full range of emotions through my signature motifs, people and motorcycles. Under the concept of surprise & spark, I believe that even a small spark can become a small trigger for someone, and that when it turns into smiles and laughter, people can be happy. For me, art is the force that moves people’s vitality.
